(Interview show notes don’t do justice to the live recording.  Full all of the content and gold nuggets you have to listen to the show)

Today we are privileged to have on the show Pen-Florida’s District Secretary of the Assemblies of God, Rev. Steve Powell.

Welcome, and thank you so much for joining us today.

We have seen you at many Pow Wow’s but let me give the audience a brief bio.

Steve Powell serves as District Christian Education Director. With over thirty-five years in ministry, he has pastored in Illinois, Indiana and Florida. His church experience was primarily urban ministries, leading multi-staff churches. He has served as District Presbyter in Indiana and Florida, Executive Director of, Florida League of Christian Schools, and as General Presbyter with the General Council of the Assemblies of God since 1999. He has also served on numerous boards and committees in both corporate and faith-based sectors. While a student at Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, Steve met his wife Kathy. During their thirty-four years of marriage, they have been blessed with three children and two grandchildren.

Being ministry-minded, their entire family is actively serving in the church.

While he has a heart for church ministry, Rev. Powell’s primary call is to be a “pastor’s pastor” through District service. He is driven by His desire to serve God by equipping others in ministry, as evidenced in his belief that “God did not create men for ministry as much as a He created ministries for men.” With a charismatic leadership style, Rev. Powell inspires others to “Grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with both God and man.”

I know you have a big heart for BGMC.  All of us in Penn Florida recognize the BGMC brand.  Talk a little about the importance of BGMC.
