Royal Ranger Podcast feel that the National Royal Ranger office has done a terrific job of creating meeting guides for each weekly meeting.  Many outposts meet on Wednesday night, but the online curriculum is suited for any day of the week.  Each of these meeting guides are carefully planned down to the minute, and are the best place to start to achieve the perfect Wednesday night.

Opening is more than a place to start

Each weekly meeting guide begins with opening and is intended to be done in the classroom at each outpost level.  At our outpost we do this as a whole.  We feel this gives an opportunity for the entire outpost to connect and to keep any one outpost from feeling isolated.  This also gives out outpost an opportunity to share announcements in a way that keeps everyone on the same page.  Further, it gives the Senior Outpost Coordinator a chance to speak to the outpost and for the Outpost Chaplin to bring a short devotional that unifies us as one body of believers.  However, we do dismiss the RK’s just before Chaplin speaks so that he can cater the devotion to the older boys.

The Compass Rose will guide you

The meeting guides are setup in a way that brings out the four Gold Points , the four ways a boy grows.  (Spiritually, Mentally, Physically and Socially)  If you focus on accomplishing these four elements of the meeting guides you will have gone a long way to meeting the needs of your boys.
1.  Bible Merit — Spiritually
2.  Program Feature — Mentally
3.  Recreation — Physically
4.  Patrols — Socially

Outpost Commanders – You’re the Quarterback!

• Delegate — It’s best if you can let your commanders take care of the weekly teaching.  This leave you available to handle all of the logistics.
• Plan B — Always be ready to move seamlessly to plan B.  Things happen but that doesn’t me the night has to unravel.
• Keep Time — It’s your job to keep the night moving and make small adjustments to make sure your staying on track.
• Stick to the plan — Spontaneity is never birthed out of chaos.
