The People You Serve Matter To God
Choose a job you love, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life. This seems to be the American dream. If that’s not you then what’s life like when you’re not living the American dream? Is that the American nightmare or is it something just short of that?
What if your entry into the workforce didn’t start as a choice but more like a necessity. Isn’t that true for most of us. Even if you went to college and entered an industry that catered to your new skill set are you living the dream.
Let me tell you a little secret after 30 years in the world of fine arts. When the job you love is shouldered with the responsibility of paying bills it looks a lot like work every single day.
This podcast is not a simple glass half full, half empty talk. Whether you are pumping someone’s septic tank or filling columns of numbers for a million-dollar portfolio, your job is important. Your job is important because the people your serve are important to God. And if we really believe what we believe that’s a powerful truth.
American Dream Restated
Be grateful for the job God had given you and you’ll love your work every day of your life. Grateful people that love their jobs are always eager to share with you how they got to where they are in life, and most of the time it won’t be the path you expected. I have a degree in finance and, yet I own a kiln manufacturing company, and cohost a weekly Ranger podcast. Gods journey for you is full of adventures and He is eager for you to experience them.
Gratitude is a key that unlocks many carriers
The trajectory God has for your life is up, but when you’re always hanging you head, dragging your feat and complaining God can’t launch you to your next great adventure. He will patiently wait and work with you until you are on a sure footing from which you can launch. Being grateful to God and those you work around can begin to tip the scales in your favor.
Get Ready
Many of us have more that one interest and some of those are already streams of income, but putting together a well thought out plan can usher in the miracle God has prepared. Many Bible scholars have said that the miracle for Nehemiah was the opportunity to rebuild the wall not the project itself. Nehemiah planned and prepared a long time before he ever had his meeting with the emperor.
Activate Your Faith
As believers we talk a lot about faith and sometimes it gets a little casual. It’s a piece of Church ease that we think will smooth things over. But, faith is an action verb. It’s the real time, real power that sets the supernatural laser guided impact on your life. And, it’s the swell of courage in the face of fear. I recently heard this statement and I love it. When your faith is someone exceeds your fear in something, fear loses its grip. In the Ranger code “Courageous” means, a Ranger is brave in spite of danger, criticism, or threats. Activating your faith doesn’t make you fearless it makes you fear-less and gives you the courage is spite of fear.
In a previous episode we talk about God given vision and how to press through to the finish line.
