Well, we want to apologize for being off radar for the past couple of weeks, but as you’ll hear today, our father, after a brief battle with some recent health challenges, passed away. And though we grieve his loss, we also are rejoicing in the memories of a man who was The Game Changer in our lives.
Dads, though you may often forget how important you are to your family, it would be well to remember that you are, in fact, The Game Changer in their lives. Dads, you have the ability to speak lasting words of wisdom in a way that no one else can. You can love them in ways that no one else can. And you can give them a vison for their future that brings life into focus in a way that no one else can!
So how can you become The Game Changer?
Well, one way is to learn from a great example, and we’ve got one to recommend to you today – our dad. In today’s podcast, we’ll share a few stories about his legacy. To read more, go to www.legacy.com
Here are three other suggestions for becoming a game changer.
- Speaking words of wisdom – “enrich the lives of those you love by saying what needs to be said”–Seth Godin.
- Showing love – “always err on the side of love”–Gary Smalley.
- Being the visioneer!
“YOUR CALL – You will have opportunities to step up to the plate and call for change. If you are the leader in your home, don’t shirk your responsibility to call for reform when things begin to slip. You know best what could and should be in the family God has blessed you with. Don’t settle for anything less than that. Yes, it will be awkward. No, not everybody will understand. So what? Think about what’s at stake. Lead boldly.” – Stanley, Andy, Visioneering
So Dads, lace up your high tops! You’ve got some big shoes to fill!
And don’t forget the greatest game changer of all – Jesus Christ, by whose resurrection we too can rise to eternal life.
