Watch Out!  That May Be Load Bearing

Commander Wayne one of the facts that came across my Facebook feed some time ago was that Commander Sarge had served with all of our National Commanders.  So as we drill down on the stories that connect those dots today I wanted to talk about some of the changes that Commander Sarge has seen, good and bad, and see if we can’t identify those load bearing walls that we as leader need to be careful not to disturb as we make changes and adapt.

We’re going to have to be careful here with our time because this is a weekend workshop, right?

• Identity
  • I think our culture is in an identity crisis. Identity gives you the clarity, vision, and direction you need.  Boys love living by a code
• Relationship
• Advancement
  • Boys play differently when the score is kept. Advancement brings out responsibility, accountability and camaraderie.

A great place to start is to hold up the lens of the four ways a boy grows.  Our four Gold Points.  (Mental, Physical, Spiritual, Social) Andy, by the way, it’s not “take your pick”, it’s all of them together.
