50/50 Chance your Outpost Will Make It

A recurring conversation among Royal Ranger Commanders concerns the growth and health of their Outpost and more specifically with their team leading the charge.  Why is it so hard to attract and keep great Commanders?  After all, isn’t it all about the boys?  Isn’t it just that simple?  The important arduous task or mentoring the next generation is arguably one of the most important jobs of the Church, and yet human resources seem to be in limited supply.

Have you ever heard someone say that marriage is all about compromise?  It is a 50/50 relationship and sometimes you win and other times she wins.  NO, a marriage is 100% her and 100% him coming together as one dynamic union.

That which you nurture thrives, that which you neglect dies.  If you’re not nurturing the 100% of your wife something will begin to die.  You constantly need to feed in new energy and attention.

This is analogous to a Royal Ranger Outpost.  An Outpost is 100% about the boys and 100% about the men.  If you aren’t nurturing either of the 100%’s then the Outpost is dying.
