What Everyone Should Know About This Blue Point
with special guest
Commander Tom Saccenti

Yes, accepting the fee gift of salvation is the first step, the most important step, and one that Jesus crossed a great chasm to make possible, however it is just a first step.  As Royal Ranger Commanders we know that many people walk away from their faith.  As a matter of fact, several studies have been done on several continents that bring to light the top two reasons why young people are so easily talked out of their faith: they were entertained and not equipped, they never had their questions answered.  Therefore, as Royal Ranger commanders, we have to take the “keeping” part of our mission so deadly serious.  Youth can lead them to Christ, Pow Wow can lead them to Christ, but it’s the week to week, year to year relational mentoring that builds within each Ranger boy the routines and evidence biased faith that will sustain them for a lifetime.  Royal Rangers is unique this way.  There is nothing quite like it on the planet and you have been called to serve the King in it.
So, what is one of those powerful Royal Ranger foundational tools that help to build a wall around the hearts, minds and bodies of a Ranger?  The CODE.  A quick search would yield volumes of studies proving that boys and men live by codes and if families and Churches don’t provide one the enemy is ready and able to craft on out of the cultures rotting ooze.
Here at The Ranger Podcast, and with the help of some very special guests, we are going to take a deep dive into each one of the eight blue points and I know that this will give you a renewed inspiration and desire to keep the CODE front and center in your Outpost.
Today we have the honor of welcoming Commander Tom Saccenti, Southeast regional commander to the show.
ALERT – A Royal Ranger is mentally, physically, and spiritually alert.
I thought we might just walk through these on at a time, and as we do let’s anchor ourselves with a bit of scripture.
Luke 10:27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”
MENTALLY
To be mentally alert speaks volumes to the link between mind “soul” and brain.  We are spirits having a human experience.  Understanding this creates in us a strong desire to have a relationship with Christ who anchors us to our heavenly destination.   Also, being mentally alert dispels all those notions of blind faith.  Blind faith can lead to some pretty terrible things.  Paul encourages us to be able to give evidence for our trust in God.
PHYSICALLY
1 Corinthians 3:16  Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
Our physical body is the tool we have been given to accomplish all God has for us.  Step one to staying physically alert is to take care of your body, and determine to keep yourself pure.
SPRITUALLY
Romans 12:2  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Spiritual alertness is powerful and profound and can only be attained by daily study of God’s word.
