Call Me A Cab

Drop me anywhere in Lakeland Florida and in minutes I can orient myself to the surroundings, tell you which way is north, south, east, and west, and then take you to any location.  Drop me anywhere in New York City and you might as well blind fold me.  If that happens I going to call me a cab.

Imagine if you were a cab driver in NY.  What is the one thing you need to know about every customer?  Where they are going.  Without that key piece of information, you’ll never last very long as a cab drive.  You may think to yourself, they’re in NY, they have to go see the Statue of Liberty.  And, certainly they are going to want to drive down Broadway.  Oh, and let’s not forget the Empire Sate Building.  All of these places are fantastic but if they are just trying to catch a flight you’ve done a terrible job.

Your Rangers are headed somewhere, and they are expecting you to get them there.  We have spoken to hundreds of DR’s and AR’s and asked them one simple questions:  Where are you on the Advancement Trail?  90% of the answers where exactly the same, “I don’t know”.

You might think, if they don’t know how can they tell their cab drive where to go?  It’s worse than that.  If they don’t even know they are in NY, how could they possible have a destination in mind.

Get Your Bearings

The first step toward an Outpost full of goal-oriented boys that are laser focused on the next advancement level is to orient them.  Break out the “compass”, the advancement posters.  Find out where each boy is, and make sure he and his parents know.

Mark the Way-points on The Map

The next steps just get easier from here.  The Advancement posters along with the awards poster give a colorful, visual way-point to each boys’ next destination.  And guess what cabby?  Powered with this information you can be confident and successful in getting your boys on time to their next destination.

Clarity is an amazing thing.  Clarity lifts the fog and chases away fear and confusion.  Knowing where you are and where you are going can be totally transformative.  By accomplishing these two thing you will begin to create a visually challenging and competitive environment boy thrive in.
