What’s The Deal with Reality?

Our culture has one foot hanging over an abyss and one foot on a greasy black banana peel.

Tic Tok disordered dating and relational advice.  Every corner of the internet littered with the fantasy driven porn industry, and the ever-growing worlds of virtual reality.

Yes, we are in enemy territory, and this world is a mix of beauty and barbed wire, but God has given us his word to guide us towards life to the full.  God wants us to flourish.

Royal Rangers deals in reality.  The reality that God didn’t leave us here alone, but rather came down to live and die and rise again.

Through a Christ centered merit curriculum we teach skills that help every young man tackle real life challenges.

Through our adventures we see the world that declares God’s glory and see a world that needs redemption.

As commanders we need to recognize the reality of the culture our Rangers are growing up in and confront it with them and for them.  Cutting the lights, pulling the blinds, and hoping they go away isn’t going to work anymore.  This is why Commander Wayne and I talk so much about the culture of your Outpost.  A culture that clearly defines who you are and what you’re all about will limit those efforts that try to tear you down.
