The Wisdom Of The Dead

Hey everyone and thank you for joining us on this, season 6, episode 188.  I’m Commander Randy and maverick/“The Ranger Podcast wingman” is Commander Wayne Elliott.  Good day sir.  If you ever saw the movie Top Gun then you would know that the wingman is the real hero of the story.

Commander Wayne, Royal Ranger Commanders are a special kind of Christ follower.  We are so grateful to be a part the greatest, Christ centered scouting program in the world.

Thank you to our listeners.

How does your family feel about traditions?

Traditions Are The Wisdom Of The Dead

There is only two ways to get wisdom:

  1. Live a really long time on this planet
  2. Borrow wisdom from those who of gone up a head of us

I have done a bit of both.

Think about this in the context of marriage.  The marriage, or holy matrimony, of a man and women is not just some old, outdated tradition.  It is great wisdom of the dead.

Granted all wisdom comes from God, but not all wisdom comes from Godly people.  That is to say that even non-believers are made in God’s image and have His morality written on their hears, and, so, can live out traditions that are very wise.

There is a lot of tradition woven into Royal Rangers that give us the great wisdom of the dead.  In a world where we are all consumed by copious amount of noise it seems harder and harder to be heard.  We have to be careful not to throw of tradition for the sake of adaption to some new cultural norm.  After all our primary goal is to pull culture back onto the foundations and traditions of Christianity.
